2013 Bath Remodel ($40,000-$60,000)Chrysalis_Award

The primary scope of the project was the transformation of a marginally functional, very dated bathroom into a restful, contemporary Southwest retreat within the existing available space.  The strategy was to remove all finishes and surfaces, recycle all that we could, and replace everything from the old block windows to the bathtub in a complete makeover of this large master bath. Warm earth tones, stone, tile, and a free-standing tub are just some of the features that make the client so happy.

Architect Tom Reilly (right) has long fostered the strong connection between design and construction. He originally set up two separate companies to handle each of these aspects of remodeling, but three years ago formally joined them so he could market Renovations as a complete resource for homeowners.

By relying on an extensive network of business associates, “There is no aspect of a remodeling project that we cannot help with: material selection, design, construction, financing, renting, pet sitting, moving, cleaning — you name it, we do it,” he says.

Most of Renovations' work is designed by Reilly and another staff architect and is built under the supervision of three project managers. However, the company also builds projects designed by others and designs projects that will be built by other contractors.

During the last few years Reilly has added green remodeling to his services. He works with a local company to offer clients energy audits, and then reviews the changes his staff can make so the house will perform better. He expects this segment of remodeling to increase in importance as energy costs rise.
